Aesop’s Newest Fable – The Squirrel, the Ant, and the Grasshopper

One bright day in late autumn a family of Ants were bustling about in the warm sunshine, drying out the grain they had stored up during the summer, when a starving Grasshopper, his fiddle under his arm, came up and humbly begged for a bite to eat.

Not to be outdone, the pesky squirrel ambling by decided to jump for the grain bin and help himself.  He missed and hung himself for the winter by his very ownliest nuts.  Ouch!  You can figure out the moral of this story for yourself.

Carrie Fisher, RIP. Reflections On Steve Martin Tribute

Steve Martin recently Tweeted a tribute of Carrie Fisher upon learning of her death.  He tweeted that, as a young man, “she was the most beautiful creature he had ever seen.  Turns out she was also smart and witty, as well.”

Naturally, the PC feminazis came out of the woodwork, and New York Post magazine people called his tweet awful, and that he shouldn’t have commented on her beauty.  He should take his Tweet down, etc. etc.

Well, I think he should keep it up and double down.  And, as a big, middle finger to the haters, I’ve attached Yoda’s thoughts about the PC People’s complaints on behalf of Steve Martin.

A Nostalgic Polar Vortex Christmas Scene

The Chicago Tribune reports, “As subzero cold hits, wind chill advisory for Wednesday night, Thursday morning“.

With overnight temperatures dropping well below zero, the National Weather

Service has issued a wind chill advisory for Wednesday night through Thursday morning.

The advisory is in effect from 9 p.m. Wednesday until 10 a.m. Thursday. The weather service said wind chills could reach minus 30 in some areas. It warned people could suffer frostbite in as little as 30 minutes.

One happy corollary, the sub-freezing temperatures slow Chiraq’s murder rate down a bit. Once the sun comes out, and things warm up again…maybe not so much.
