The Washington Post Slings Another Slippery Headline – Updated

Update: The article “That caravan of migrants Trump was tweeting about? Mexico stopped it.” refered to below appears to have been disappeared by the good folks at the FakeNews Washington Post.  The link from the old article go directly to a new one, “The caravan of migrants that’s alarmed President Trump stalls at a soccer field.”  They rewrote it, but failed to include an “Oops” we made an error correction.  Instead, they just made it go away.

That incorrigible Washington Post can’t resist serving up misleading headlines in an effort to try and diminish President Trump. For example, “That caravan of migrants Trump was tweeting about? Mexico stopped it.”

This misleading headline is one of the reasons the WaPo gets labeled so often as FakeNews. The headline – “That caravan of migrants Trump was tweeting about? Mexico stopped it.”

The ‘facts’, though, as reported in the story, belie the “Mexico stopped it”part of the headline. For example, the “annual caravan…is currently in the town of Matias Romero Avendano in the southern state of Oaxaca.” It’s still there waiting for something that may or may not happen.

Or how about, “A portion of the group …[is in] the neighboring state of Veracruz…but it is unclear whether that group has so far dispersed.” If it’s unclear that the group has dispersed, it probably hasn’t.

Or my favorite, “An official from Mexico’s National Institute of Migration told BuzzFeed News that Mexico plans to disband the caravan by Wednesday.” We have plans to, but as of yet we haven’t stopped anything at all. You know what they say, “The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.”

SJW’s – ‘Tools’ Blaming Tools

**Tool – Tool: (noun)

1.) A guy with a hugely over-inflated ego, who in an attempt to get un-due attention for himself, will act like a jackass, because, in his deluded state, he will think it’s going to make him look cool, or make others want to be like him. The person may even insincerely apologize later on, but only in an attempt to get more attention, or to excuse his blatantly intentional, and unrepentantly tool-ish behavior.

2.) Someone whose ego FAR exceeds his talent, intelligence, and likeability. But, of course, he is clueless regarding that fact. He erroneously thinks he is THE MAN!

3.) Someone who others normally refer to as a prick, dick, or schmuck.

4.) David Hogg

Daily Darwin – Key Cleaner Award

Darwin chortles about the most recent April Fools prank going around.  He surmises that the unwitting fools got quite a shock to the old genomes when they inserted their keys into the ‘key cleaning machine’.

Natural selection deems that some individuals serve as a warning to others. Who are we to disagree? The next generation, ever and anon, is descended from the survivors

Coffee Causes Cancer In California

From KABC7, “Starbucks, other coffee sellers ordered to warn California customers of carcinogens in coffee“.  Hey, everything causes cancer in California, don’t you know?

Beware of the Dog! Have a cuppa cancer.

A judge ruled that Starbucks and other coffee sellers in California must provide a cancer warning on their products for customers.

A nonprofit group sued several companies that sell coffee, including Starbucks, coffee distributors and retailers in 2010.

The lawsuit claimed those companies violated state law, which requires them to warn consumers about chemicals in the roasting process that may cause cancer. One of those chemicals is acrylamide, which is a carcinogen.

The Newest Challenge For The ‘Tide Pod Generation’

It doesn’t take a Rocket Scientist to point out (heh) that the newest “Challenge” in support of Gun Control could leave the participants digitally challenged.  But, hey….most of the Tide Pod Generation are Two Thumb texters, so it probably wouldn’t matter to them any way.
