San Francisco Four Days Before Big Quake

No.  We’re not referring to appalling “Not Guilty” verdict in the Kate Steinle Murder trial, but the actual  ‘Great’ San Francisco Earthquake of April 18, 1906.  From History.com,

The earthquake occurred at 5:13 a.m. local time, with its epicenter offshore of San Francisco, which then had a population of approximately 400,000 people.

The greatest devastation resulted from the fires that quickly followed the quake. The initial tremors destroyed the city’s water mains, leaving firefighters with no means of combating the growing blaze, which burned for several days and consumed much of the city. More than 3,000 people perished and more than 28,000 buildings were destroyed in the disaster. Additionally, some 250,000 of San Francisco’s residents were made homeless. Damages were estimated at around $500 million (in 1906 dollars).

Hey, Matt Lauer – You Shoulda’ Tried WD-40 Instead

Breitbart reports, “NBC News Fires Matt Lauer Over Allegations of Sexual Misconduct“.

Matt Lauer, the longtime left-wing anchor of NBC’s Today Show, was fired Wednesday over allegations of sexual misconduct, according to the New York Times.

Along with Charlie Rose at CBS, Lauer is the second morning anchor to lose his job over sexual misconduct allegations. Last month NBC fired political commentator Mark Halperin after numerous women claimed he had behaved in appropriately with them while he was working at ABC/Disney.

Trump ‘Clint Eastwoods’ Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi

President Donald Trump borrowed a page from Clint Eastwood’s  2012 RNC ‘Empty Chair‘ speech and did an ‘Eastwood’ on Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi after their passive-aggressive decision to boycott a Presidential meeting on the current tax reform legislation.  The poor babies didn’t like a Trump Tweet.  Chuck.  Nancy.  Your really make it oh, so easy for Trump to troll you.  Man up!  You to Chuck.

If a Wall Is Good Enough For Taylor Swift, Then It’s Good Enough For America

This ironic, hypocritical howler comes from Vanity Fair, “Taylor Swift Is Building a Wall“.

Some walls are meant to keep people in. Some walls are meant to keep people out. Some walls can be broken down with solid therapy and two glasses of Cab Sauv. Taylor Swift, for her part, is building a wall around her Beverly Hills mansion. It’s hard to say what kind of wall this one will be yet, but the objective appears to be keeping paparazzi and other bogeymen out, according to TMZ, which has viewed the permit for the new build.
