GOPe Testing Support for Third Party Candidacy

The Washington Post is breathlessly reporting that “Inside the GOP effort(s are being made) to draft an independent candidate to derail Trump“.

A band of exasperated Republicans — including 2012 presidential nominee Mitt Romney, a handful of veteran consultants and members of the GOP_Elites_Support_3rd_Partyconservative intelligentsia — is actively plotting to draft an independent presidential candidate who could keep Donald Trump from the White House.

These GOP figures are commissioning private polling, lining up major funding sources and courting potential contenders, according to interviews with more than a dozen Republicans involved in the discussions. The effort has been sporadic all spring but has intensified significantly in the 10 days since Trump effectively locked up the Republican nomination.

John McCain Endorses Donald Trump

According to CBSNews.com in their report, “4 ways Republican officeholders are reacting to Donald Trump“, John McCain falls somewhere in the “mushy middle“.  Can you tell by his face exactly where in that “middle” he falls”?

Others have suggested they’ll support Trump, but they’ve taken pains to avoid using his name, referring to him instead as simply with the generic “nominee.”

John_McCain_Endorsing_Trump“I feel, as a Republican and a longtime Reagan Republican, that I support the nominee of the party, and that’s what I’ve said all along,” Arizona Sen. John McCain told the Washington Post last week.’

Still others have said they can’t bring themselves to support Trump yet, but they’ve made clear they’d like to consult with the presumptive nominee with an eye to eventually endorsing him.

“I hope to support our nominee, I hope to support his candidacy fully,” House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wisconsin, told CNN last week. “At this point, I’m just not there right now.”

More Trump Protests

From the LATimes, “Latino activists vow more Trump protests as tensions heighten“.

Latino activists said they expect more large protests as Donald Trump moves his presidential campaign into California.

Guns_Libs_Violent_Cons_NotTrump faced large and hostile demonstrations outside a rally Thursday night in Costa Mesa and at the Burlingame hotel where he delivered a speech to the California Republican Convention on Friday.

“I think it’s going to get worse if he gets the nomination and is the front-runner. I think it’s going to escalate,” said Luis Serrano, an organizer with California Immigration Youth Justice Alliance. “We’re going to keep showing up and standing against the actions and the hate Donald Trump is creating. We are going to continue to just show up in numbers and stand together.”

Trump has faced protests during several stops in California over the past few months, but they escalated considerably this week.

This Way To The Egress

Perhaps there’s a little PT (Welcome to the Egress) Barnum in Donald J. Trump.

Barnum’s American Museum was so popular that people would spend the entire day there. This cut into profits, as the museum would be too full to Trump_The_Wallsqueeze another person in. In classic Barnum style, old P.T. put up signs that said “This Way to the Egress.” Many customers followed the signs, not realizing that Egress was a fancy word for “Exit.” They kept on looking for this strange new attraction, the “Egress”. Many patrons followed the signs right out the door! Once they had exited the building, the door would lock behind them, and if they wanted to get back in, they had to pay another admission charge!

Trump Deraignment Syndrome Begins

Courtesy of the NY Daily News we get, perhaps, the stupidest story yet about Trump Deraignment Syndrome, “The complete guide to fleeing President Donald Trump’s America“.

NYDailyNews_Cover-Make_America_Migrate_CaptureFor folks across the nation, the election of Donald Trump would make America grate — again.

The mere thought of President Trump taking the oath of office on Jan. 20, 2017, has already led to threats from U.S. citizens that they would leave our red, white and blue borders behind if The Donald reaches The White House.

But get this howler!!  The number one “Enclave for expats” is (drumroll, please), Singapore–the Caning Capital of the World.  I would encourage Meg Wagner, the author of this tripe, to take her own advice and try it.  Then she can pen another piece and tell us all how it worked out for her.

Singapore might be your best bet. The island nation boasts the top quality of life for expats, according to a 2015 survey of expats by InterNations, a 2 million-person strong network of migrants.

The Asian county earned the title for its slew of high-paying jobs, welcoming atmosphere, stellar health care facilities and top-notch public transit. English, one of Singapore’s four official languages, is used frequently, especially in urban areas, so communication barriers are limited for Americans.

Move you Lefty idiots! These fine folks in Singapore will beat you like a drum, and there ain’t no safe spaces. Here’s your menu of caning choices. Chew on it.  The list below is just a partial summary.  The link clicks to a complete list which is a real killer.
