FakeNews Media Should Study Mark Styne’s ‘Correction Lesson’
The Columbia Journalism Review reported, “Correction as Weapon: Self-Inflicted Wounds.”
Can you tell what’s going on in this 2001 correction/apology published by the Ottawa Citizen?
The Ottawa Citizen and Southam News wish to apologize for our apology to Mark Steyn, published Oct. 22. In correcting the incorrect statements about Mr. Steyn published Oct. 15, we incorrectly published the incorrect correction. We accept and regret that our initial regrets were unacceptable and we apologize to Mr. Steyn for any distress caused b our previous apology.
I feel the offering deserves consideration as one of the top ten corrections of all time. Admittedly, though, it belongs at the bottom end of the list, due to the fact that it doesn’t actually tell you what the incorrect correction got wrong, or why the paper needed to apologize for its apology.
StreetArt – Japanese Manhole Covers: Less Boring Than Super Bowl LIII
Just think. How boring was Super Bowl LIII? It was sooo boring that checking out Japanese “painted manhole covers” was way more exciting.
Darwin’s Chairlift and Skiing Brigade
Darwin notes with circumspect glee that the only things worse about skiing other than getting up at Zero-dark:30 to pack all of your crap for the skiing trip, are driving through a blizzard on snow-covered, icy roads just to get to even more snow, or the frigid-brrrr!! cold, or the crappy parking in between slush mountains, or the super expensive lift tickets, or the assholes that can actually ski that get all the girls, or all of the people and trees destined to get in your way, or the stupid boots, or that frozen rope of snot hanging from your nose, or the lines for the chairlift, is the actual chairlift ride itself — and that’s an ‘effing bitch.

Snakebit By IDentity POLitics
The Daily Caller writes, “WAPO’S ‘CONSERVATIVE’ BLOGGER UNDER FIRE AFTER CALLING BLACK VIRGINIA LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR ‘ELOQUENT’.”
A Washington Post blogger has come under heavy criticism after tweeting a call for Virginia Governor Ralph Northam to be replaced by the state’s lieutenant governor, a “dynamic, eloquent African American.”
Jennifer Rubin, whose Twitter profile identifies her as a “conservative blogger” for the outlet, issued a call for Democrats to “move Northam out” after a racist picture from the Virginia governor’s 1984 medical school days came to light so he could be replaced by Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax. However, it wasn’t the call itself that got Rubin in hot water, but rather her description of Fairfax.
Had the Lt. Gov been a BBall player, would Ms. Rubin's comment been rec'd differently? For example, "That was the 'cleanest' 3 point shot ever. The way it swished thru the hoop spoke 'eloquently' of Lt. Gov's skill as a shooter. Getting snakebit by IDentity POLitics is a bitch.
