As of 6 a.m. Wednesday, homicides totaled 135, a 71 percent jump over the 79 killings in the same year-earlier period, official Police Department statistics show. That represented the worst first quarter of a year since 136 homicides in 1999, according to the data.

Shootings have jumped by comparable numbers as well. As of Wednesday, at Chiraq_Homicide_Mugleast 727 people had been shot in Chicago so far this year, a 73 percent rise from 422 a year earlier, according to a Tribune analysis of department data.

Worse yet, that jump follows two consecutive years in which shootings rose by double digits, the analysis found. Homicides also rose by about 12.5 percent last year over 2014.

AGW – Another Polar Vortex On the Way

From AccuWeather, “Subfreezing highs to return to northeastern US as polar vortex shifts southward“.  It’s just one more example that AGW-Climate Change-Global Warming (AKA: Weather) exists.  Just ask the (AKA: Weather Spokesmodel).

A southward plunge of the polar vortex will bring a quick blast of arctic air directed at the Great Lakes and northeastern United States during the first week of April.

“The latest indications are the core of the coldest air associated with the polar vortex will track a bit farther north AGW_Another_Polar_Vortexand east, compared to the outlook from last week,” according to AccuWeather Long-Range Meteorologist Edward Vallee.

The main thrust of cold air will aim at the Great Lakes, New England and the northern part of the mid-A

There is still a chance the arctic air may sneak farther south at the last minute, according to AccuWeather Long-Range Meteorologist Joe Lundberg.

It is possible for frost and freezing temperatures at night in parts of the central Plains, Tennessee Valley and southern Piedmont areas at the height of the cold air.

The potential for shocking cold and a hard, damaging freeze will exist from the Upper Midwest to the interior Northeast.

Europe is Lost – Might As Well Grow a Beard

What do you think happens when the terrorists know they are invincible from 9:00pm in the evening to oh, say, 05:00 in the ‘effing am?

From the Washington Post, “Bomb attacks show how Belgium became an incubator of terror“.

The Belgian police have also been hampered by bizarre rules. According to Belgian Justice Minister Koen Geens, just two days after the Paris attacks Liberal_Libtard_Head_Up_Ass_Way_UpAbdeslam was “likely in a flat in Molenbeek.” But because of the country’s penal code, which prohibits raids between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. unless a crime is in progress or in case of fire, police were ordered to wait until dawn to pursue him. By then, Abdeslam was nowhere to be seen.
