From time to time Darwin comes across a category of genome chlorination that is unto itself and most worthy of special recognition. It has to ‘rise above’ the crowd. It has to be even more strikingly stupid than Warren Beatty announcing the wrong “Best Picture Award” at this year’s Oscars. That special category is – Darwin’s Ladder Brigade.

Darwin chuckles, ironically, that having your genomes ‘flattened’ by a runaway tire is like getting hit by lightning, having a meteor fall on your head, or making a video that goes viral. With the exception of perhaps, winning the lottery, Darwin notes that odds like that never work out well for the overall ‘health and happiness’ of your genomes.
